My name is Lorraine Elliott and I am a food and travel blogger at Not Quite Nigella. I’ve been blogging for 8 years now.
One bit of unusual information? I believe in magic.
How would you describe your blog Not Quite Nigella and your cooking style.
It’s very eclectic and I don’t have one particular style. I like complicated and I love simple recipes. I like rich food but I also love healthy food. I love food from all types of cuisine. I do have a preference for cakes and well loved family recipes though. I guess you could say that I love all food 🙂
You have decided to share your Strawberry Saint Honoré recipe. Can you introduce it?
This recipe was developed after a trip to Paris. I had ordered a St Honore at Laduree and was smitten by the crisp choux, creamy custard, fresh fruit and billowing whipped cream. I wanted to see if I could make it at home. I find Paris so inspiring for cakes and sweets and often our visits there are just to eat ourselves full of pastry.
Why did you choose this Strawberry Saint Honoré recipe?
Well it suits you Laura because you are French but also because I was thinking about the recent tragedy in Paris and how everyone has reacted to it. So many people have visited and loved this city and it holds a place in many people’s hearts. It’s like someone you know got hurt so it feels like a very personal attack.
